Swim Lessons in Los Angeles , CA

It’s always a Sunsational time to learn to swim in Southern California! When you sign up for private lessons with our Los Angeles-area swim instructors, you can rest assured that your child will make rapid progress with the essential safety skills needed in and around the water. Our Learn-to-Swim Guarantee focuses on your swimmer’s ability to turn around and get to the wall unassisted if they fall into the pool: if your child can’t demonstrate that “Sunsational Swim Sequence” by the twelfth lesson, we’ll give you up to four additional classes for free!

Our Los Angeles swim lessons are perfect for learners of all ages—infants, toddlers, older children, or even adults!—to improve their swimming ability in a matter of weeks. After several one-on-one lessons, your swimmer will show increased confidence, safety, and skills in the water, whether in your own backyard pool or at a community pool in the Los Angeles-area.

When your child is ready to race with the Los Angeles Swim Club or one of the many other local teams, we’ll match them with an instructor with current or prior coaching experience, to improve their racing form and technique and become a better competitor. We also offer private lessons for athletes wanting to train for the Los Angeles Triathlon or for a military swim test; we’ve got a Sunsational instructor to help you with all of your swimming needs!

Catching some waves at Surfrider Beach in Malibu? Or just relaxing in your own pool? From beaches to backyards, gaining the skills to enjoy the water more safely is a must for everyone living in the Golden State. Sunsational Swim School brings those essential swim skills to you!

Benefits of Private Swimming Lessons in Los Angeles

Water Safety Focus

We emphasize water safety skills at Sunsational Swim School. Why? Tragically, the majority of drownings in the Los Angeles area that involve young children happen in private pools. Learning how to recover from an accidental fall into the water by finding the wall, turning around, and swimming to the side of the pool is the “Sunsational Swim Sequence” in our Learn-to-Swim Guarantee: if, after twelve lessons, your child (3 and older) has not mastered those steps, we give you up to four additional classes for free!

Convenient Scheduling

You may have to squeeze into your swimsuit, but you don’t have to squeeze our lessons into your calendar! If your Tuesdays and Thursdays are just too hectic, you can schedule lessons for a lazy Saturday morning or a peaceful Friday afternoon. Your Sunsational swimming class fits your schedule, not the other way around.

Individualized Lesson Plans

Our experienced teachers make lesson plans guided by each swimmer’s needs and strengths, because every student learns to swim differently. Sunsational’s classes utilize gentle, encouraging techniques so that kids and adults can conquer fears and learn to swim more quickly.

Sunsational Client Reviews

We contacted Sunsational and they put us in contact with Christina to teach our 6 year old son how to swim. The process was easy and our son took to Christina right away. With a pool in our backyard we needed to get our son safety ready. He was swimming the length of the pool after four lessons. My wife and I were amazed. Last year he wouldn't put his head underwater and how he's turned into a fish. Thanks Sunsational
This is the second year I have used Sunsational Swim School for private lessons for my two children and I am thrilled with how quickly they have excelled in the water. My 6 year old, usually fearless, still had some reservations in the pool, but with the great care, patience and guidance of Romy, our swim instructor this summer, she is thrilled to be in the water, under the water, and all over the place and all sense of fear is GONE. And my older child is continuing to learn proper strokes and techniques and is flourishing in his swim abilities. He just loved every minute of it. Thank you again, Romy! You were wonderful!!!
I love sunsational!! I was let down by other independent swim instructors who said the would come to my home and flaked after the first lesson. Waleska one of their swim instructor was very professional. She taught my children all kinds of swimming techniques. I feel comfortable with them in the water. She was really nice and my kids loved her.

As a child, my mother would have to drag me out of the pool. That would probably explain my nine years experience on swim teams, diving teams and water polo teams, not to mention my two seasons as a lifeguard. I have three years experience as a junior coach for a local swim team in my hometown of Chicago, IL. I also was a swim instructor at the pool I worked as a lifeguard. I love to work with kids from varying levels of swim experience, whether it be basic swimming techniques from proper breathing to stroke development. Swimming should be fun! The best way for anyone to have a good time swimming is to know they are safe and understand how to sustain themselves in many aquatic situations.

I am a graduate student from Pepperdine University with Masters in Education and teaching Credentials. I graduated in June of 2013 and I am in the process of applying to Elementary school in Los Angeles. Despite of earning a degree in Education, I graduated from UCLA with a B.A. in History in 2009. I have extensive leadership and teaching experience working as a pool manager and team coordinator, which has allowed me to contribute to the community in a unique way. Not only have I been able to ensure public safety, but have been pleased to work with diverse kids of all ages either through teaching lessons to coaching Swim Team, Special Olympics, and etc. This experience has made me strive for something greater and that is to live my passion in working with kids and inspiring learning.
