I love teaching swim lessons especially with adults who have phobias and a lot of fear. However it is also a joy to see young children get excited about the water and impress their parents with their new swim skills.

During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, I started teaching my own two children essential water safety skills and swim strokes as a way to stay active. What started as a family activity quickly grew into a deep passion as I watched them develop confidence and master a life-saving skill. My swim instruction set the foundation, and as a result, my son swam with such enthusiasm and skill in his first swim season that he was named a breaststroke county qualifier in 2024. I quickly and effectively build trust between swimmers and myself, allowing me to create a warm and welcoming environment where swimmers of all ages feel safe, confident, and capable!

Hello! My name is Zya, and I have been a swim instructor since February 2021 at my local pool, and I am comfortable working with children from various backgrounds and ages. My goal is to get beginner swimmers acclimated and comfortable in the water so they may learn leveled skills, practice water safety, and have fun independently.
