Baby Swim Lessons

Sunsational Swim School knows all about creating the perfect baby swim lessons. After years of offering swimming lessons for infants, we understand that the most important part about learning to swim is water safety skills. Our instructors prioritize these skills for our young students to make sure they’re safe in and around the water. Our baby swim lessons are built on a gentle and caring foundation that our instructors have crafted over years of experience.

It’s so easy to get started with our infant swimming lessons, and we even offer parent and baby swim lessons to help get you and your child settled. These lessons aim to advance your baby from their first splashes in the water to learning advanced safety skills. After a series of our baby swim lessons, your little one should be able to float, kick, fall into the water, safely resurface and find the pool edge before holding on and climbing out. All of these skills are taught in a way that’s both fun and educational, using games, repetition and even songs.

Children under the age of four, including babies, are the most at risk of accidental drowning. At Sunsational Swim School, these statistics are a great motivator in our mission to help every child learn to swim. Formal swimming lessons can actually reduce the risk of drowning by up to 88% for kids under four, making our infant swim lessons a really good idea. This is especially true if you have a pool in your own home, as over 72% of pool drownings occur at home.
Our Baby Swim Lessons
At Sunsational Swim School we understand that getting you and your baby to swim schools can be a challenge. That’s why we are thrilled to offer parent and baby swim lessons both privately, and as a baby swim class with a group of your choosing. If you have other parents in your social circle currently looking for a provider of baby swim lessons, this is a great way for everyone to benefit. We offer both parent and baby group swim lessons (for 4‐8 babies) as well as private infant swimming lessons.

Why are Infant Swim Lessons so important?

Drowning is the leading cause of death for infants and young children between the ages of 1-4
Of all preschoolers who drown, 70% are in the care of one or both parents at the time of the drowning and 75% are missing from sight for 5 minutes or less.
Children under one year most often drown in bathtubs, buckets, or toilets. Among children ages 1 to 4 years, most drownings occur in residential swimming pools

Benefits of Baby Swimming Lessons

It Teaches Water Safety
Babies are naturally curious, which is why baby swimming lessons make so much sense. An awareness of the water, and of water safety skills, could very well save your child’s life one day.
It Develops Their Co-Ordination
Being in the water will do wonders for your child’s co‐ordination and balance, as well as improve their motor skills. A 2009 Norwegian study found that babies who can swim have better balance, and more skills at picking up objects than those who had never swum.
It Boosts Confidence
The earlier children are introduced to water, the less likely it will be that they fear the water later in life. With our infant swim lessons your child will learn how to move independently, and gain more confidence.
It Builds Their Strength
Swimming is great exercise, and babies are no exception to that. Throughout our baby swim lessons your child will exercise more muscles, and may even learn to walk sooner thanks to better muscle control.

Sunsational Client Reviews

Susy was my swim instructor and she was amazing!!!! I am beyond impressed with the progress my 8 month old has made with her. I was shocked and amazed. She has incredible patience and works so well with babies and young kids. I HIGHLY recommend her!!
I have nothing but great things to say about my son's swim instructor Cheryl Bonnes. I was not sure at 10 months he was going to be able to do all the Tadpole skills but after 8 lessons he has reached them all. Cheryl was fantastic in working with my son, she was very patient and so encouraging. My son is much more familiar and confident in the water. I can not thank her enough for all her support and her sweet nature with infants!
Good day,Our instructor Humberto is excellent with the baby - he is able to get himself out of the pool at the steps and is learning how to float and hold his breath underwater, (all of this before he can walk) I myself find myself learning more and more each week about babies and water. We will be registering for the new baby who will be born in December, then, he and his brother can take lessons together, we will also request Humberto again. Thank you
