I was lucky enough to have parents who made swimming a priority. My mom took me to swim lessons at the local YMCA starting when I was 6 months old, and I havent stopped loving the water. I swam on the junior swim team and was a junior lifeguard and swim instructor as a teen at my local pool. As an adult, Ive competed in triathlons in the past, but what I love most is snorkeling, open-water swimming, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. I believe that having a good foundation in swimming opens up so many different opportunities in many outdoor activities, and Im excited to open those doors for my students since November 2024.

I`m a former Eagle Scout & Scout Lifeguard. In high school & college, I worked summers teaching swimming at a school for the disabled. I was a Pool Manager for the LA Parks Department and a Swim Director for the Jewish Community Center. I ran a preschool swim program at a summer camp, and taught over 3,000 children to swim. I've taught many fearful children, and by the end of our lessons they all loved the water. As a father of four grown children, my first love is teaching children.
