My name is Yusuf Eldesoky, and I bring over six years of coaching experience along with fourteen years as a competitive swimmer and water polo player. I competed at the collegiate level and continue my athletic career playing water polo, marking six years as a collegiate athlete while finishing my masters degree. Throughout my career, I have coached swimmers of all ages, from toddlers just learning to float to teenagers training for competition. Many of the athletes I have coached have gone on to compete at NCAA Division I, II, and III levels in both swimming and water polo. Hi, my name is Malia Ohmer, and I have worked with kids since February 2019 and was also involved in a competitive swim team for about 5 years. Hi all! My name is Jack, and Im a grad student at NYU, back home in the East Bay for the summer! I have been swimming since I was 8 years old and have competed everywhere from my local summer recreational league all the way up to NCAA collegiate swimming during my undergrad at NYU! I have been coaching since February 2020, having taught all ages between 18 months and 18 years, as well as specializing in areas from learn-to-swim basics, water safety, and advanced stroke refinement for racing. I'm a certified American Red Cross Water Safety Instructor in addition to being CPR/First Aid certified, and I can't wait to pass on that knowledge to anyone who Im lucky enough to coach. My swim journey began in 2002 at the age of 7. During the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, I started teaching my own children essential water safety skills and swim strokes as a way to stay active. What started as a family activity quickly grew into a deep passion as I watched them develop confidence and master a life-saving skill. With my teachings setting the foundation, my son swam with such enthusiasm and skill in his first swim season that he was named a county qualifier in 2024.
