At 16, I started giving private lessons with Tollefson Swimming. During college, I spent my summers coaching the Garrett Park Swim Team and giving private lessons to kids as young as 18 months.

Hello, I'm Chelsea, an experienced competitive swimmer and swim instructor for students of all abilities since February 2016. I have a lifelong passion for swimming and believe in sharing the skills required to safely engage with the pool. While many skills are safety-oriented, safety is extremely important and is best taught by making it fun while still taking it seriously. Children learn to safely face the water with courage if the water isn't scary. This is ultimately much safer and inspires a lasting love of swimming. I take a personalized approach to all different learners, varying my personal progression and consistently hitting key swim milestones, which makes me a great teacher for any learner.

I believe every student learns at their own pace, so I focus on creating a fun, supportive, and encouraging environment where skills can develop naturally. Whether your goal is overcoming fear of the water, learning the fundamentals, improving stroke technique, or becoming a stronger, safer swimmer, I'll tailor each lesson to meet your individual needs. Safety, patience, and positive reinforcement are at the heart of my teaching, and I look forward to helping you or your child achieve success in the pool!

Im Milki Bato, a University of Maryland student and super enthusiastic swim instructor who loves turning pool time into the best part of a kids day. Ive coached students in sports before, so I really know how to explain skills in a way that clicks and keeps things safe, structured, and fun. Im amazing with little ones. From babies and toddlers splashing for the first time to energetic kids ready to learn real strokes. I meet each swimmer right where they are. I bring big smiles, high energy, and genuine care to every lesson so kids leave the water more confident and excited to come back. I have lots of experience teaching all ages how to swim! They are all happy with what Ive done and I plan to continue to share that!

Id be in the pool all the time if I could and felt that way since I was 5. The love of water turned to speed and afforded the ability to train with olympians and world record holders, earning myself a place alongside those exceptional athletes in the finals of the 2004 Olympic trials. Since then I appreciated the opportunity to develop swim lesson programs for an early childhood center/community center, but I feel a greater sense of accomplishment when I teach, having taught ages 3 to 72 and assistant coached a team of 250+ swimmers in middle and high school. I feel lessons are most effective when we can create a comfortable environment to encourage openness to learning, and use my experience to tailor lessons to each individual.

Hi there! My name is Clark, and Ive worked as a swim teacher since March 2016. I love any chance I get to help new students learn how to swim or to become stronger swimmers. Ive worked with students aged 18 months to 18 years old and have taught one-on-one as well as small and large group lessons. Ive had the chance to work with students with a wide range of differing abilities and skill sets, as well as physical or neurological differences, and I always work to tailor lessons so that they can get the best possible swimming experience. Ive worked as a lifeguard, water safety instructor, and swim coach over the past decade, and I have also worked with kids outside of the pool as a math and social studies tutor during high school and college.
