My dad made it a point to make sure I could swim, and from a young age, got me comfortable in the Fro River close by in the TX Hill Country. At the age of 5, I joined my neighborhood swim team in San Antonio, officially beginning my competitive swimming career since July 2011. From ages 14 to 18, I swam high school practices in the morning and club practices in the evening. In the last few years on my summer league team, I was tasked with helping the young ones get comfortable in the water and learn how to swim.
