I was lucky enough to have parents who made swimming a priority. My mom took me to swim lessons at the local YMCA starting when I was 6 months old, and I havent stopped loving the water. I swam on the junior swim team and was a junior lifeguard and swim instructor as a teen at my local pool. As an adult, Ive competed in triathlons in the past, but what I love most is snorkeling, open-water swimming, kayaking, and stand-up paddleboarding. I believe that having a good foundation in swimming opens up so many different opportunities in many outdoor activities, and Im excited to open those doors for my students.
