Hi, my name is Kelvin Villegas. I have taught swim lessons since June 2018, have worked as a swim team coach, and have even coached a youth diving team for a season. I love the water!! I used to swim competitively and now I swim 2 to 3 times a week in the pool and at least once in the ocean. My goal for teaching swimming is primarily to help people see the water as a place that they can be in and have fun. Water brings real danger and it is important that we learn proper safety procedures but our goal is ultimately to feel as comfortable in water as we do on land. Swimming, for me, is a portal into another dimension. I often invite my students to imagine that being in water is like being in outer space.
