Hello there! My name is Akiya Martineau. I am a student at USF studying biomedicine. Teaching people how to swim is truly a passion of mine. I was fortunate enough to grow up around the water, doing different types of water sports and activities. I started lifeguarding at the age of 16 and soon began swim instructing at the recommendation of my boss. I instantly fell in love with it. Its important to me that everyone has an opportunity to learn how to swim for their safety, especially living in Florida. I have been teaching swimming lessons since January 2021.
