Hey there! My name is Katrina Otero. I've been working as a swim instructor since February 2018! During the school year, I work as a special needs aide, so I'm very comfortable working with neurodivergent kids. I've taught all ages, including adults. I love working with students who want to overcome their fear of the water and just need a helping hand. Hello! I have a bachelors degree in child development and work during the day as a manager for an autism center. I began competitive swimming at age 9 and swam varsity and club through college. I have been teaching various types of lessons to all ages since January 2015. For non-swimmers, my lessons focus on safety first: teaching life-saving skills like floating, turning around after falling in, swimming back to the edge, and climbing out. For swimmers who want to prepare for competition, I teach stroke development for all four competitive strokes. I am also available for adult lessons at any experience level.
