Hi! My names Summer, and Im super excited to be a part of the Sunsational team. Just a little about my swim background: I swam competitively for 10 years from 8 to 18 years old, with the majority of my time being on the UCLA Bruin Swim Club and a few years at Alpha Aquatics. I simultaneously swam in middle and high school and competed at CIFs for 4 years during high school. In college, I became an assistant coach for Bruin Swim Club and did swim instruction with UCLA Recreation until March 2020. During the pandemic until December 2023, I conducted private lessons and worked with kids aged 3 to 15 years old of various swim levels (e.g., learning how to swim to preparing for competition). Hello! I have a bachelors degree in child development and work during the day as a manager for an autism center. I began competitive swimming at age 9 and swam varsity and club through college. I have been teaching various types of lessons to all ages since January 2015. For non-swimmers, my lessons focus on safety first: teaching life-saving skills like floating, turning around after falling in, swimming back to the edge, and climbing out. For swimmers who want to prepare for competition, I teach stroke development for all four competitive strokes. I am also available for adult lessons at any experience level. I like to keep lessons fun! I use a kickboard and encourage you to bring any water-safe toys your kiddo might enjoy!
