With over 10 years of aquatic experience, I am qualified and confident to teach swim skills and water safety.
I have swam competitively, taught swim lessons, and instructed aquatic therapy for people with physical and mental disabilities.
Working as an aquatic therapist taught me about the properties of the water and how to instruct those with special needs.

I am an adult swimmer who learned to swim later in life. I not only enjoy the sport but also want to ensure swimmers of all ages are comfortable in and around all types of bodies of water. As a "later in life" swimmer, I understand the importance of the skill. I swim regularly and compete in various open-water swim events throughout the summer. My experience with teaching ranges from students 6 months through adults. Each swimmer learns differently, and I know that the fundamentals need to be taught, but how they are taught will vary.

Through high school and college, I lifeguarded and taught swim lessons at various recreation districts, including Normandy Estates, Bear Creek Swim and Tennis, and the YMCA. I also had the opportunity to coach summer club swim teams and was an assistant coach for one year as a high school coach. My love of teaching swimming prompted me to pursue a career as a teacher. I have been a special education teacher since August 2000. I love keeping busy in the summers. Most recently, I was an outdoor manager at Grant Ranch in Littleton.
