I would recommend Nabyla to ANYONE that is interested in getting their child swim lessons in Palm Beach County, Fl! It took the first five lessons for our child to stop crying all the way through. However, the instructor stuck with us. I absolutely love the way she coaches and our daughter gets these little gifts from her that she carries around all day. It has been so wonderful so far, I don't even want it to end because my daughter is having so much fun and learning so much!! Thanks so much, Nabyla. You're a true gift!

Was a little upset with the company at first because our first instructor quit on us with no notice, but they were very helpful and kind after that and we got paired with Christina. She taught my 16-month old who wasn't always happy, but she had patience with her! She knew what my daughter was capable of doing right from the beginning and helped her achieve many goals we had, she was always engaged and kind. She worked with our schedule and was good at communication. Would definitely recommend and will be using her in the near future again!

Ms. Carla did an awesome job working with my 1 year old son in the water! He learned so much during his time with her and actually enjoyed his lessons! He is confident in the water and I am very pleased with the progress he made!

'Carla did a great job teaching my 3 year old twins to swim. my son was afraid of swimming because he had fallen into the pool earlier. I got the package out of fear because I was afraid of the kids getting near the pool. By the end of the swim class package he was swimming across the pool by himself. As a mother, when I saw that I was in tears of joy and relief. I feel better and no longer have fear about my children near our backyard pool. It was challenging to teach him at first because he was traumatized by the water and cried a lot. My daughter also cried alot because she wasn't comfortable in the water. Carla was patient, kind, and professional while teaching my children. It takes the grace of an angel to teach little ones. I am grateful that God sent this angel Carla to teach my kids how to swim.'- Yvonne B.

Carla was absolutely incredible with our two toddlers. She gave our three year old daughter the confidence she needed to swim underwater safely to the steps of the pool in just three weeks of lessons! She also gave our 18 month old the groundwork needed for safe swim. She is still saying “kick kick kick” when we mention Carla! Will definitely be using Carla again when we return! Thank you!!

'Miss Rachel went above and beyond in her lessons with my child. Her lessons taught my child the necessary skills, while making learning these skills fun. Miss Rachel increased my child's confidence in the pool. She not only helped my child, but helped me as a parent know how to continue support my child in learning to perfect her swimming skills.' Jaden is a fantastic instructor. He he is caring and knowledgeable as to how to get the most from both of my boys (4 & 1). He has a positive and supporting approach to instruction that we really appreciate. He was flexible to ensure that we were able to schedule appointments that worked for our family. We highly recommend Jaden as a swimming instructor.

We had an absolutely amazing experience with Isabelle as our daughter’s swim instructor! She worked with our 10-month-old and made every single lesson feel safe, fun, and nurturing. Isabelle has such a natural way with babies and is patient, calm, and always so positive. It was such a joy to watch our daughter light up in the water and make progress week after week. As parents, we felt completely confident that she was in the best hands. We’re so grateful to Isabelle for giving our little one such a wonderful start to swimming. I would highly recommend her to any parent looking for an experienced, caring, and truly exceptional swim instructor!

Mary P.

Coach Briana is an absolute gem of a swim instructor! She worked with my 1- and 4-year-old, and in just six lessons, the progress they made was nothing short of incredible. My 4-year-old went from being hesitant in the water to swimming short stretches independently and floating on his back with confidence. My 1-year-old, who I wasn't sure would take to lessons so young, is now happily submerging and even crab-walking along the pool wall--both of my kids now truly love the water! Briana's professionalism, deep knowledge, and warm, engaging teaching style made every lesson enjoyable and productive. She's an excellent communicator, always keeping us informed about timing and progress, and most importantly, she built a wonderful rapport with my children. They absolutely adored her, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. My kids are still singing her swim songs! If you're looking for a swim coach who is patient, skilled, and truly invested in your child's success, Briana is the best choice!

Natasha G.

Annie is a great instructor! We have enjoyed her & her teaching style. My daughter (just turned 2) is making great progress with her. I feel like Annie really thinks about what will work specifically for my daughter when coming up with a lesson plan. She's patient and thorough. She's also creative. Upon meeting her the first time she said she would email me the skill chart & did right away! I've experienced good follow through & good communication with her. 5 stars! We had tried another instructor with Sunsational with no success and were rematched with Annie. Very happy we made the switch. I'll write a separate post on that process but his review is 100% positive & I'd recommended her to anyone!

Stephanie J.

Hannah in Boca Raton is amazing! We're thrilled with the service and our daughter is so comfortable in the water. I have already recommended Sunsational to many friends!

Brooke A.

I'm so impressed already with my 1.5 year old son. After 4 lessons he holds on to the wall by himself and says 'kick, kick, kick' and kicks his little legs throughout day when he's laying around playing. Marie has been wonderful with him and very patient. He has screamed a few times and cried but even so he listens to her and kicks to the wall! I couldn't ask for someone to be more patient but also able to teach him at the same time!

'Mia was SUNSATIONAL! She was so patient with our 15 month old son. It took about 3 lessons to get him into it (mostly because there was a cold front in FL and the pool wasn't warm) but after that he LOVED it. He would be looking for Mia after the lessons were over. Highly recommend. She was always on time and responsive. The company itself is great too! Also very responsive. Our first instructor didn't work out and they immediately found us a better replacement.' -Christie C

'Coach Alyson was absolutely wonderful with our almost 2 year old daughter. She showed her so much patience during each lesson and our daughter learned swimming essentials and grew in her confidence in the water. Thank you Coach Alyson!' Kristin Mullins

I am only two lessons in but so far the experience has been amazing. Andreia Costa does great with my 13 month old as well as with my two neighbors and their 11 month olds. We are currently splitting a 90 min session, 30 for each baby two times a week and Andreia has been punctual, great with her communication and just an overall joy with the girls.

Vanessa F.

Our 15-month son became more comfortable in water including going underwater and kicking his feet. Mary was a great swim instructor and taught us a lot about water safety as well. Highly recommend

Barbara S.

Sunsational Swim School has been great though the entire process. They answered all my questions and made signing up for swim lessons super convenient. We really enjoy the swim lessons with Gretchen. She is reliable, kind, patient, and makes swimming fun for my child. I feel very lucky that she was chosen as our swim instructor. I highly recommend her services!

5 reasons to start swim lessons for your baby now

Many Wellington parents wonder if their baby is too young to start learning to swim. They think babies will eventually learn the skills on their own, or that the skill isn’t necessary. Here’s why starting lessons early is a smart choice:

Water safety starts early

Drowning is the leading cause of accidental death for children under four. Babies are naturally curious, which is why baby swimming lessons make so much sense. An awareness of the water, and water safety skills, could very well save your child’s life one day.

Decreased risk of drowning

It’s impossible to watch over your children every second. Most daycare facilities have pool or splash days during the summer or have field trips that include water fun. Children can drown in less than 1 inch of water, particularly if the person is under the age of 4. Swimming lessons help decrease the risk of drowning.

Encourages social interaction

Swimming and playing in the pool with parents and other babies helps boost babies' social development.  Babies learn through shared experiences, laughter, and engaging in activities together. Your child shouldn't have to skip these character-forming moments due to a fear of the water or because you simply haven't found the time for swim lessons.

Builds their strength

For babies, swimming helps strengthen their muscles, improve coordination, and enhance their motor skills – all without any unnecessary stress on joints. Plus, the water’s resistance provides a full-body workout, even for the tiniest of swimmers. Swimming may even help learn to walk sooner thanks to better muscle control.

Lifelong skill that starts early

Swimming is a skill for life. Providing your baby with swimming lessons opens up a whole new arena of fun and fitness that they can participate in all their lives. If you don't know how to swim, consider taking a parent and baby swim class together or taking adult swim lessons on your own. Create core memories in the water, together!

How parent and baby swim lessons help build confidence around the water

Babies as young as six months old benefit from pool time in the arms of a trusted adult. Infant swim lessons allow your child to enjoy the water before they have a chance to learn fear. Positive pool experiences help babies remain calm so they can progress to learn effective water navigation skills such as kicking and back floats.

How parent and baby swim lessons help image
75%of children who drown were out of sight for five minutes or less
9 out of 10drowning deaths occur while an adult is present

The benefits of swim lessons extend beyond the pool. The sensory and motor stimulation resulting from pool time creates new neurons that positively impact confidence and even intelligence. Bilateral movements, or using both sides of the body, help increase the connections between the two hemispheres of the brain, which will later help with skills like language development, spatial awareness and reading.

How to prepare your baby for swim lessons

Not ready for a formal class yet? Start at home! Simple activities in the bathtub, like gently pouring water over your baby’s head, introducing words like “kick” and “splash”, or laying them on their back in shallow water, can help them feel comfortable in the water before their first lesson.

When you’re ready for the pool, help your baby be successful with these tips:

  • 1
Feed them at least 30 minutes before a lesson to prevent tummy discomfort
  • 2
Pack essentials like swim diapers, towels, dry clothes, and fresh diapers
  • 3
Arrive early so you have time to get ready
  • 4
Ease into the water to keep the experience positive

Water safety is always the number one priority

Even the most comprehensive and successful water training program isn’t enough to drown-proof your child. Babies should always be within arm’s reach in the water, and children should never swim unsupervised. The goal of baby swimming lessons is to reduce the chance of accidental drowning, but it can’t guarantee to prevent it completely. Even if your little one was the star of the class, you should still be vigilant in your supervision to ensure that the water provides positive experiences for years to come.

We had Carla Leitao, who was just amazing!! From the moment we met she was able to create a comfort label for the kids in the pool. And even though I wish we would had more lessons my kids are more comfortable in the water and can swim short distances in the water. She was able to relate to the 3 of them their level despite of the gap in ages they all advanced tremendously.

I truly enjoy working with all of my swimmers, including those with special needs. When I'm not in the water, I love to cook and hang out with my family. Peace and splashes! ÂÆ’ĂżĂš

Got questions?

We have answers. What age can babies start swim lessons?

No. Sunsational Swim School’s infant swim lessons are based on a child-centered and caring approach that focuses on building trust and rapport with the instructor and wonderment and respect of the water. When designing your baby’s swim lesson plan, our instructors consider all aspects of the well-being of your baby, including physical and emotional. Your swim instructor will create a safe environment for your baby to learn water-safety skills that include back floating, roll over breathing, “swim-float-swim”, the monkey crawl, and what to do after a fall into the pool. All of these skills are taught in a way that’s both fun and educational, using games, repetition, and even songs, at a pace that’s healthy for your little one.

Yes! Sunsational specializes in private, at-home baby swimming lessons, where our instructors come directly to your pool or community facility in Wellington. It’s the easiest way for your baby to learn in a calm, familiar setting.

We make scheduling easy. Morning, afternoon, evening, and weekend lessons are avaialble 6AM-8PM to fit your family’s lifestyle. You choose the days, times and number of lessons per week that works for you. Because all lessons are private, scheduling is completely flexible and can be adjusted for vacations or weather. In Wellington, our instructors teach year-round, so you can start lessons whenever you’re ready.

Every child is unique and develops at their own pace. Physical and emotional readiness, motor skills and willingness all play a role in the pace your baby learns. However, the most common and most influential factors in the student’s learning pace we find is repetition and consistency. We recommend our baby students take 3 lessons per week for maximum skill retention and fast progression. Most of our students make significant progress within 12 to 18 lessons in our baby swim classes.

Yes. Swimming is not only defined as the four major swim strokes, but the ability to propel through the water. Your baby can learn how to use their little limbs, breathing and sense of direction to deliberately move from point a to b in the water, once they start walking. These skill sets are learned in a progressive manner and each child learns at a different pace. Our infant swim lesson teachers are experienced in coaching your baby to learn these skills in a fun, encouraging, and accelerated way. Even if your baby is not ready to swim, we'll work on swim and safety skills like blowing bubbles (breath control), kicking, rolling over onto our back and floating.

Your baby’s first swim lesson is designed to be gentle, fun, and completely pressure-free. The goal isn’t to make your baby swim right away—it’s to help them feel safe, happy, and relaxed in the water. Tears on the first day are not unexpected!

Your Sunsational instructor will start by introducing your baby to the pool gradually: gentle splashing, floating with support, and playful water exploration. Parents or caregivers are always encouraged to be present.

Most Wellington parents begin lessons around 6 months old, when babies can comfortably hold their heads up and start exploring the water. Babies who have early exposure to swim lessons and the water are proven to have reduced anxieties and emotional obstacles learning how to swim. The water at this age is a familiar place as it’s similar to floating in the womb. Sunsational’s certified instructors offer private, at-home baby swimming lessons throughout Miami, helping your little one feel confident and safe early on.

Absolutely. Every Sunsational instructor in Wellington is certified in CPR and insured under our company liability insurance policy. What's more, every Sunsational swim instructor has a minimum of 2 season's of teaching experience. We emphasize comfort, floating, and water awareness—always at your baby’s pace.

Every child learns differently, but with consistent, one-on-one instruction, most Wellington infants begin floating and showing swim readiness within our 12 or 18 lesson package. Sunsational’s personalized approach—taught in your own pool—helps babies progress faster than in group lessons. We find that the most common and most influential factors in the student’s learning pace are repetition and consistency. To that end, we recommend our baby students take 3 lessons per week for maximum skill retention and fast progression.

While we specialize in private, at-home infant swim classes in Wellington, you do not need to have a pool to register for our lessons. For baby and some toddler lessons, parent participation is encouraged for building water comfort. For older children (typically ages 2+), parents are not specifically encouraged to be in the water, as our one-on-one private instruction is designed to build independence. However, we always require a responsible adult to be present on the premises for all lessons with minors. If you have specific preferences or concerns, our team is happy to accommodate them in your registration. We tailor each lesson to your comfort and goals.
