Sarah Sebe is a mom of four and the founder of Sunsational Swim School, which began in 2009 when she was the sole instructor traveling house-to-house teaching private swim lessons in Los Angeles.

As a lifelong swimmer and recent college graduate, Sarah quickly noticed many children had already spent months in group swim classes but still couldn’t swim. With personalized one-on-one lessons in their own pools, those same kids were often able to begin developing meaningful water safety skills within weeks.

She realized families needed a more effective and convenient way for children to learn critical water safety skills.

In 2011, Sarah created Sunsational’s Learn-to-Swim Guarantee, designed to help children work toward foundational safety skills like turning around, swimming back to the wall, and grabbing the wall after an unexpected fall into the pool. The program was inspired by an important reality: drowning is the leading cause of death for children under age 5, yet many swim programs do not focus on these practical safety skills.

As a busy mom of four, Sarah understands this mission even more personally. She also appreciates the convenience of having lessons at your own pool so siblings can take back-to-back lessons at home instead of driving across town to multiple swim lesson times with little progress.

Today, what began as one instructor traveling house-to-house has grown into America’s largest private swim lesson marketplace, connecting families with 3,000+ vetted instructors nationwide and helping over 100,000 swimmers build confidence and critical water safety skills.
