3 Easter Egg Hunt Alternatives

3 Easter Egg Hunt Alternatives
Easter Egg Hunt Pool Games

Having a pool party for Easter? Here are 3 unique ways to incorporate pool play for your children and guests.

1. A Pool Easter Egg Hunt

Fill a pool with plastic Easter eggs and have children scoop them out of the pool, as opposed to the traditional egg hunt around the yard. To make sure that this is appropriate for all swimming abilities, place eggs in various parts of the pool with some in the shallow end and some in the deeper end. Parent supervision is a must for this fun egg hunt. If you have many toddlers in attendance and have a wet deck, use this area instead or a small child’s pool.

2. Swimming Bunny Ducks

You can either fill the pool with bunny rubber ducks, or if you have a water slide, instruct the children to be near the end of the slide and send down the Bunny rubber ducks down the slide for a fun surprise. The individual bunny rubber ducks can also be sent home with your guests child as a party gift. We love the Easter rubber duckies from Party Supplies Delivered.

3. Underwater Egg Hunt

This is for advance swimmers only. This is a fun way to hunt for Easter eggs for older children or teens who still want in on the fun. Place weighted Easter eggs in the pool and they will sink to the bottom. We recommend the Turtle Eggs Dive Game. We also want to remind parents and party hosts, that this also requires adult supervision, even for children who know how to swim.

Safety First

Pool games are always great fun, but safety is paramount! If you're planning on enjoying the water this Easter, you should always have a parent or adult watching the activities the entire time. It's also important that the supervising adult be sober, just in case the unthinkable happens, he/she can react quickly and decisively. If your swimmer is just getting started in the water you can use extra precaution by getting the right floatation device. For infants and toddlers this could be in the form of a life vest or ring with support between the legs. For older children pool noodles and kick boards are often kept nearby to help if they begin to get tired and need to recover. And lastly, though rafts and lounge chairs are excellent places to hide Easter treasures under, they're not a good idea to keep in the pool for beginning swimmers as young children can get stuck under the devices in the pool.

Have a great and safe Easter!
